In preparing for our webinar later today with voice commerce firm Blutag, I was struck by the growth in voice commerce that they described.
Today, retailers with voice-enabled shopping carts see much less desertion of the cart, more frequent and consistent purchasing of routinely needed products, and greater add-on purchasing than when voice is not part of the interface.
Consequently, Blutag’s business is surging, seeing significant growth since the onset of the pandemic a year and a half ago.
I’ll leave it to Blutag to share their exact numbers, but it was fascinating to receive this update when, prior to the pandemic, the most recent taste in our mouth on voice commerce was this deflating, controversial article from The Information essentially calling voice commerce “hype.”
I’ll be on with them TODAY (Wednesday, October 6) at noon Eastern / 9 AM Pacific. Registrants of the webinar not only receive access, but audio and video copies of the proceedings after it concludes.
Siri celebrated a decade of existence this past week - a bittersweet occurrence, as it both demonstrates Siri’s historical significance while also serving to remind us of just how much we and Apple alike lost when Steve Jobs died.
Voicebot has a nice summary write-up of the various features that served as guideposts on the road to Siri’s ten-year evolution.

VoiceStar, Arrivu, U-Hertz, Deken, VoicePT, Cyrano, and several other young voice/AI companies will present during the event, which will serve as the formal rollout of Project Voice Capital Partners, a new $20M VC fund targeting pre-seed and seed investment opportunities in the space.
If you’re attending Project Voice X and would like to pitch your company as part of this process, email Info@ProjectVoice.AI. Registration is here.
