Hey now, you're an all star
Get your game on, go play
Hey now, you're a rock star
Get the show on, get paid
And all that glitters is gold
Only shooting stars break the mold
Steve Harwell, lead singer of Smash Mouth, died today at age 56.
Smash Mouth came to prominence in the late 90’s as the result of Harwell personally visiting radio stations to deliver advance copies of the band’s second album, Astro Lounge, prior to its release.
Pounding the pavement worked: the album went triple platinum and set the band on a new trajectory of stardom.
The lead singer’s life, marred by alcoholism, proves another valuable point: we don’t have a long time. Get on with it.
Effective immediately, Project Voice’s annual conference is now invitation-only, and will be a much more intimate, buyer-centric gathering akin to a Davos Summit of conversational AI.
We will have 250 attendees, 70% of which will be Fortune 1000 executives leading conversational AI initiatives of $1M or more. 15% will be CEOs or second-in-command at selected best-in-class conversational AI service providers, 10% will be VC principals or angel investors with demonstrated records of investing in conversational AI, and 5% will be qualified US-based media reporting on technology or AI.
Leading AI ethicist Merve Hickok, Washington Post CTO Vineet Khosla, and Hina Dixit, partner of Microsoft’s famed M12 venture capital unit, will keynote.
Unlike in years past, with this level of a circle of trust established, I will circulate an attendee list a month in advance privately among attendees heading to Chattanooga.
This represents a full evolution of this conference, where instead of just programming one side of the event - the speakers - I now will program both sides of the gathering, including all attendees, ensuring conditions for buyer/seller and startup/investor/acquirer unions are primed for influence and impact.
Invest half an hour of your Wednesday this week in a special webinar focused on the union of conversational AI and visual technology - avatars and holograms - and how the combination is shaping the future of one industry in particular: healthcare.
I’ll moderate the conversation with executives from Codebaby and Proto.
Complimentary registration can be found here.
Audio and video files, as always, are emailed out to registrants after the webinar ends, should you not be able to attend or not be able to attend the entire thing.
